The Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County recognizes the 2019 Youth of the Year - Madison Freeman

Statesboro, GA – March 13, 2019 – The Youth of the Year is the most prestigious honor to be bestowed upon a Boys & Girls Club member.   This signature character and leadership program celebrates youth ages 14-18 who have demonstrated exceptional character and achieved personal and academic accomplishments. Youth selected as Youth of the Year are recognized for service to their Club and community, academic performance and contributions to their families.

On Monday March 5, 2019 thirty youth from Boys & Girls Clubs across the State of Georgia descended upon the Capital and were recognized by Governor Brian Kemp for their accomplishment.  Representing the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County (BGC) was Ms. Madison Freeman. A Statesboro native, Madison is freshman at Statesboro High School.  An active member of the BGC for the last 5 years, Madison describes herself as compassionate and friendly.  Madison is a leader inside and outside of the BGC serving as a positive role model and willing to help younger kids at the BGC. She operates a cupcake business, and loves playing golf.   Madison credits the BGC with teaching her life skills she would not have learned anywhere else – self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and effective communication.

The Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County is proud to recognize Madison as the BGC Youth of Year and applauds her accomplishments!
