he Karl E. Peace Center for Academic Advancement was dedicated on August 30, 2011 in honor and recognition of the contributions of Dr. Karl E. Peace. Peace has long been recognized for the vital role that he has played in community leadership and his deep personal commitment to education and public health. The Karl E. Peace Center for Academic Advancement serves as the umbrella for all academic programs provided by the Boys & Girls Club. These programs are designed to raise the academic proficiency of Club members by helping youth make positive and productive choices about their education. Impacting youth from Kindergarten through 12th Grade participants will: develop healthy habits in completing homework assignments, receive individualized tutoring from caring adults, be academically challenged through targeted instruction and pursue paths to productive careers by exploring opportunities for post secondary education.
