September 26, 2007-Female members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bulloch County’s (BGC) Elvera Mays Teen Center recently got a lesson in healthy eating.

On Monday, September 24, members of the Statesboro Service League, along with Bulloch County Health Department representatives Chandra Hooks and Michelle Bush, talked to the girls about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. The girls were given a copy of the food pyramid and had the opportunity to make trail mix, a combination of peanuts, cheerios, raisins, pretzels and m&m candies.

The Service League also provided healthy snacks for the girls to enjoy, such as fruits, vegetables, and bottled water. Before leaving, the Service League passed out handbags to the girls.  Special thanks to the Statesboro Service League and the Bulloch County Health Department for visiting the Club!
