These initiatives help young people enhance self-expression and creativity, develop multicultural appreciation, provide exposure to and develop skills in crafts and visual, performing, creative writing and literary arts.
ImageMakers: National Photography Program
View the 2005 ImageMakers National Photography Exhibit VIRTUAL GALLERY. Funded by the Circuit City Foundation, this comprehensive photography program encourages girls and boys to learn and practice photography, expressing themselves in creative and innovative ways. ImageMakers provides local, regional and national recognition through an annual photography contest. Winning photos will be displayed nationwide at museums as well as at the Boys & Girls Clubs ofAmerica's annual National Conference.
Digital Arts Suite
Five programs combine technology and the arts to attract students to more career opportunities: web design, print design and layout, photo composition, music technology and movie technology. Club members develop creativity and critical thinking skills as they learn to use modern software for graphic design, digital photography, electronic-music making and digital-movie making.
Daily Art Activities
Members complete various projects and activities while spending time at the Club. Art directors have the students designing their own cartoon characters and story lines along with character traits of their cartoons. Other crafts include creating key chains, necklaces, and string art.
The Boys & Girls Clubs encourages creativity and welcomes new ideas from Club members.
